| Elk Tracks to BART Tracks spans a 120-foot wall along the Ohlone Greenway bicycle/pedestrian path that weaves along some sections of the Richmond BART line. It depicts the development of the Berkeley area, from (left to right) the settlement of the Ohlone natives to the construction of the BART tracks. Although whimisical and imaginative, this mural features many historically accurate details, including the shellmounds of the Ohlones, the Peralta Hotel, and the debate over building the BART tracks underground or at the surface. |
